Great Community Give 2024
We are excited to participate in our fifth Great Community Give on April 17, 2024. This annual event is a wonderful initiative of The Community Foundation that promotes charitable giving to support Rockingham County and Harrisonburg nonprofit organizations. The Great Community Give is Cross Keys Equine Therapy’s biggest fundraiser and this year. The 14 therapy horses are vital to the success of our program, and their welfare is very important to us. The herd has nine senior horses (15+ years old) that will have growing needs as they age and continue to serve the program. Their special care and maintenance costs over $18,000 per year or approximately $1,500 per month, but we know this is a necessary expense. We hope to raise $25,000 to help add to our existing horse care funding. Early Giving will begin April 3rd and any donation of $7 or more helps us reach our goal. Our horses are one of CKET’s greatest assets and we want to invest in them.
